PARISH MEETING MINUTES

7) ELECTION OF OFFICERS AND INTERNAL AUDITOR

The Chairman asked the Meeting to agree the appointment of people carrying out roles on behalf of the Parish. He said that all such officers had expressed a willingness to continue in their present roles, except for Peter Linney, who has been responsible for maintaining the Parish website for many years and wished to retire. No new nominations had been received for those roles, except in relation to the vacant website role, where Karen Robinson had expressed a willingness to take over that role.

The Chairman formally offered his thanks to Peter Linney for his many years of work on the website and offered him the Meeting’s best wishes for a happy retirement.

Karen Robinson was then proposed for the role of website maintenance and the following people were proposed for the continuation of their existing roles as follows:

Chairman – John Hooper

Treasurer and administration – Pam Taylor,

Water, Drainage and Public Transport – Malcolm Staveley,

Planning and Road Safety – Michael Taylor,

Cheque Signatory – Brian Milburn.

All were proposed by Anthony Turner and seconded by Seamus Hegarty and all were appointed unanimously.

8) PLANNING MATTERS

Michael Taylor reported that there were only three matters to report for the Parish:

1)An application by Sandy Bank farm for change of user from agricultural to storage – no objections raised.

2)A planning breach allegation had been raised in relation to Folly Hill House, currently under construction – this was under investigation.

3)A complaint had been made regarding the confusion caused by marketing the new build houses on the road to Ferensby as “The Woodlands”, the same name as the flats at the other end of the village. Michael Taylor reported that in 2018 the local authority had approved the new development access road name as “Woodlands Lane”, but all the houses on that site had different names, which will hopefully avoid confusion.

Mr Taylor also reminded the Meeting of the intended planning application for a very large solar farm in the adjoining Parish, which would be visible from some properties in the village.
